I was reading Act III of The Tragedy of Macbeth when I decided to put the material down and have my siesta instead. (Probably) minutes later, I find myself in a mall, on an escalator, with mom beside me, scolding me for being reckless and selfish; telling me that dad doesn`t even have money to treat himself a movie night--since it`s his birthday--because I demand too much. As soon as I reach home, I head to the master`s bedroom where dad is, sitting on the edge of the bed, palms flat on his face --like a sobbing little boy. I walk towards him. . but even before I get close, he starts shouting and accusing (me) in fury. I start to panic and pant. I close my eyes. A flash. I see my ceiling. A breath and another, and off to slumberland once again.
Mom: Alex.
Alex: . . .
M: Aleeex.
A: (moans) =))
M: Gusto mo sumama sa Sta. Lucia? Bibilhin ko na yung gift ko para kay papa. (Tawag niya papa. Ha ha. :D)
On my toes, I enter the bathroom. :)) --Okaaaayy? lol--
So! So!
Mom`s gift is a Nokia E75. From us kids, a gigantic birthday card with our own short messages. Ha ha? :/ :)) In my message, there are two quotes:
A) "The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother."
-- David O. McKay
( That`s my way of telling "If you aljkdfaldjf fight or hurt mom I will kick your aljkd;aldfja ass!" =)) =)) )
B) "When a man has done his best, has given his all, and in the process supplied the needs of his family and his society, that man has made a habit of succeeding."
-- Mack R. Douglas
"Methinks you are that man. :D" (Woot. Ayon, e. AHAHAHA. Parang hindi ako. :p)
Hi, Dad! Happy Birthday. :) May God lavish you with more love, kindness, and wisdom. And, may it be done, another decade of pompous and meaningful life. You have been a good "Haligi ng Tahanan." Know --Sana `Bear in mind` na lang nilagay ko. Ha ha. :p -- that we appreciate every effort you (and mom) make in keeping our family in tact. (Whaaatt. Ahaha. Kidding. :D) Thank you and I love you very much. :D Ahihi. =)) Cheers to valiant fatherly-love, genes, wit & success.
Love, Alex. =))
